Can our guests make music requests during the reception?

We work for you, so that is totally your call. We will gladly take requests if you allow it. 

How much is the deposit and do you offer a payment plan?

The deposit is $550 and due at booking. The remaining balance is due 2 weeks before your wedding. However, additional payments can be made at any time.

How do we select songs ? What if the song we want is not in your music library?

You will have access to an online planning suite which includes a huge digital music library where you can add songs to your wedding playlist. If you don't see the song you want simply add a "custom song" and be sure to include the song title & artist name.

Can we book the Photo Booth without the DJ Service?

YES! We will gladly be your photo booth provider even if you have a different DJ.  

Do you provide services for ceremony and reception if they're in different locations?

Absolutely! An additional fee will be applied if the reception and ceremony are at different venues. However, there is no additional cost if they are in separate spaces at the same venue.

Do you have liability insurance?

While we hope we never need it, yes,  we do have liability insurance. We are happy to provide you or your venue with a Certificate of Insurance upon request.

How far will you travel? What is the cost?

 If your venue is within 250 miles of Suffolk, VA we'll make the trip. The first 50 miles are free and the remaining miles are charged at the current year's standard mileage rate. Lodging costs apply for venues over 180 miles away.

What happens in the event of an emergency that prevents you from performing at my wedding?

We have reliable reserve DJs on call in case an emergency arises and we are unable to perform your serivces. 

If there is an issue of equipment failure, we come prepared with back up equipment. 

How much space do you need for your DJ set up? Do we have to provide a table?

We will need a 6x6 area for setting up and access to a minimum of 2 outlets within 50 feet. We will bring our own table.

Is lighting included with the DJ package? 

Yep! Dance floor lights are included with the Reception DJ service.  

What type of music do you play?

The songs you provide on your request list give us a good feel for the type of music you like and we'll build on that. Every wedding is different so we're prepared to play a wide variety of music to keep you and your guests entertained and on the dance floor all night long. 

Will you also be our Mc?

Yes. A large part of our role will be to make announcements, manage your timeline and communicate with your other vendors to be sure you and your guests always know where to go and what is happening next. 

Can you provide service for my outdoor ceremony? 

Yes, we sure can! Our ceremony support service can accommodate any outdoor set up, even without power. 

What is the meaning of 196? is it one-nine-six or one nintey six Events?

I'm glad you asked. 196 (one-nine-six) represents Matthew 19:6 “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together let no one separate." We thought this was perfect for us as a husband & wife team and representative of our business as a wedding DJ company.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel more than 30 days before your event, then you forfeit your deposit but no additional money is due. If you cancel less than 30 days prior to your event, you are responsible for the entire balance. If cancellation is initiated by 196 Events all monies paid will be fully refunded including the deposit.
