If you are a 2021 bride you may be wondering how to keep everyone safe or what precautions you should consider when planning a wedding during COVID. Many of you are faced with several difficult decisions that will impact the success of your wedding day. We want to set your mind at ease with some practical strategies to keep your wedding from becoming the next “Super Spreader” event.
Insist that guests WEAR A MASK at all times except while eating and drinking. Your DJ, coordinator and/or venue staff can assist in reminding everyone. SPREAD LOVE NOT GERMS!
Serve individual or plated meals and desserts (Nothing Bundt Cakes is a great place to start for delicious individually served desserts)
Set up multiple hand sanitizing stations or even provide masks and hand sanitizer as wedding favors.
Opt for an outdoor venue or at least a well ventilated indoor/outdoor space.
Keep it intimate. Limit your guest list to those closest to you. Check out our blog on “The Rise of the Micro Wedding”. There are some surprising perks for having a smaller event.
Temperature checks for ALL guests and wedding party upon arrival.
Ask your photographer to use a lens that will allow them to maintain social distance while still capturing the perfect “close up” shots.
In lieu of a guestbook, leave an envelope, pen and piece of paper at each guests’ seat for them to write a note and leave it in a designated box at the end of the night.
Ask your DJ or venue about providing a bubble machine to use instead of having guests blow bubbles for your send off. If nothing else consider other send off options like sparklers or glowsticks.
HAVE A PLAN AND PREPARE GUESTS IN ADVANCE! We are all in this together…6ft apart! 🙂 So, it will require the combined efforts of your friends, family and vendors to keep everyone safe.
As always, we will stay up-to-date with the state guidelines regarding social gatherings and continue to update our site with the latest COVID wedding regulations and best practices.
STAY SAFE & HAPPY PLANNING!
