There is no “one size fits all” solution when it comes to selecting your wedding meal serving style. The below blog post by Geoff Beers is a must read before you make the buffet vs. plated decision. We especially love his idea of the “Hybrid Buffet.” Using this serving style guests have a salad or dessert preset at their table combined with a “captain’s call” (table tapping) for dinner. With the standard “table tapping” for the buffet it can take up to 1 hour before the last table is served even a bite to eat. We have witnessed this travesty occur at countless receptions you don’t want to subject your wedding guests to this if you can avoid it.
At the end of the day, there are several factors to consider when selecting your dining style. Hopefully this post will equip you to make a more informed decision for you and your guests.
